Spicy Garlic Dill Ground Turkey and Potatoes

  • 3 tablespoons oil of choice
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 pound gold potatoes peeled and cubed into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1-2 serrano pepper minced, to taste
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ⅛ - ¼ teaspoon cayenne to taste
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh dill to taste


Stovetop Directions

  • Heat oil in a large skillet or a dutch oven/heavy-bottomed pot on the stovetop over medium heat, then add ground turkey, potatoes, onion and Serrano pepper and cook for 10 minutes. The meat should be fully browned.
  • Add the garlic and spices and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Cover with a lid for 2-3 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked through.
  • Turn off the heat, add ¼ cup fresh dill, and stir. Garnish with more dill prior to serving if desired.

Instant Pot Directions

  • Press sauté, add oil, and once hot, add the ground turkey, onion, and serrano pepper and cook until the meat is mostly browned.
  • Add the garlic, spices, and potatoes and mix well.
  • Add ¼ cup water, mix well, then secure the lid, close the pressure valve, and cook for 5 minutes at high pressure.
  • Quick release pressure. Stir in the fresh dill.
