Have you ever shopped at an ALDI grocery store? For the longest time I was under the impression that they only sold processed food (junk), but it turns out that I was completely wrong. When I heard that they sell a good amount of organic food (including grassfed ground beef), I decided to check it out for myself and you guys, I am so happy I went!
Below is a real food shopping guide for ALDI. You might not be able to do all of your grocery shopping there, but it’s definitely worth a trip if you’re looking to save money. I always visit ALDI before going to other grocery stores.
When it comes to grocery shopping in bulk, Costco is a great option (see my real food shopping guide for Costo). But for those not looking to buy in bulk, ALDI is the place to go.
If there’s anything that I might have missed in the list below just let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to add it. I’d love for you to be able to print this out and take it with you on your next shopping trip, so definitely bookmark this page as I plan to continue to update it.
Before I get to the list, there are a few things you need to be aware of if this is going to be your first time shopping at ALDI.
- You need to bring your own shopping bags otherwise you’ll have to buy them there.
- Bring a quarter with you. It costs 25 cents to “rent” a shopping cart. The money is returned to you when you return the cart. According to their website, this saves them money, which allows them to pass savings onto you.
- Don’t expect to see a lot of brand names. This is how they save you money though!

I just wanted to say that I love Aldi’s and I was under the same impression for a very long time! They also have grass fed and kosher lamb roast during the holidays as well as unpasteurized cheeses. They also get ducks during the holiday’s. I buy my whole organic chickens there and chicken breast. =)

Yes!! I love that they have such an awesome selection of cheese during the holidays. I haven’t seen ducks! Very cool.
